Celebrating the Adelaide Park Lands through art

Cultural Heart

Nature has long been a source of artistic ideas and here in Adelaide, creatives don’t need to venture far to find inspiration in that area. Our unique ‘city in a park’ design sees the CBD and North Adelaide encircled in a glorious green embrace and artists everywhere are invited to share how they see these wondrous, life-filled spaces by entering the 2020 Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize.

Adelaide Park Lands AL EDM

Every two years, the Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize encourages artists of any age and from any country to make a statement or capture the essence of the Adelaide Park Lands – be it through painting, drawing, printmaking, multimedia, three-dimensional work, photography or video.

Initiated by the Adelaide Park Lands Preservation Association (APPA) in 2014, this year the non-acquisitive Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize offers a combined prize pool of $38,500 comprising:

  • $20,000 First Prize
  • $2,000 APPA Young Artist Prize (under 25 yo)
  • 10 x $1,500 prizes
  • $1,500 People’s Choice Prize

Entering the Adelaide Park Lands Art Prize is an excellent opportunity to potentially show your work to thousands of people, with all the shortlisted artworks to be exhibited, and available for sale, in the Adelaide Festival Centre, Festival Theatre Foyer Galleries throughout April and May 2020.
