A world-class creative hub, a sustainable eatery, a tech start-up helping build better workplaces and a wine retailer with community heart. These are just a handful of the award-winning businesses making Adelaide an even better place to live, work and play. Come meet them!


This week, 14 local enterprises took out honours at the 2019 City Awards – an annual celebration of the achievements of bricks and mortar ventures in the CBD and North Adelaide, proudly supported by the City of Adelaide and Business SA.

Each of the winning businesses, along with the 450 others nominated by the community this year, plays a very real role in enriching both the city’s economy and its personality.

This year’s four Business Excellence prizes were awarded by the City of Adelaide. Recognising creativity, green incentives, smart business and liveability – they went to the JamFactory, The Foodprint Experience, Teamgage Pty Ltd and East End Cellars. The best of retail, hospitality and entertainment were also celebrated with ten additional awards.

East End Cellars take pride in knowing a top drop, sourcing wine world wide and bringing their recommendations to Adelaide. Well regarded in the community, and key players in the Soup Kitchen project helping to fundraise for the Hutt Street Centre, East End Cellars is a destination for anyone interested in quality food and wine, a great atmosphere and authenticity.

Teamgage recognises the importance of wellbeing and engagement in the workplace and has created a tool to help measure and improve on company culture. The tech start-up enables businesses to collect real-time employee feedback, which is used to guide business improvements and strategy. Their success has spread globally, positioning Teamgage as a leader in Adelaide’s start up community – an ecosystem they continue to support.
