Farewell 2019

New years eve fireworks over river

Celebrate the year that was with a bang at the City of Adelaide's free New Year's Eve community event on Adelaide's Riverbank, featuring two fantastic HomeStart Fireworks displays.

When & Where

6:00 pm to 1:00 am, 31 December 2019
Elder Park and along the Riverbank

Fireworks Fun

The first HomeStart Fireworks display hits the sky just after sundown - perfect for families with little party-goers. The final spectacular show at midnight follows the countdown into the New Year.

Free Family Fun
Keep the little ones entertained in the dedicated Kids Zone, where the whole family can enjoy dazzling performances in the Little Palais, on the Street Theatre stage as well as from the roving performers. There will also be a pop-up nature playspace with water-play and nature crafts to keep little hands busy.

Live Music
Elder Park's historic Rotunda will be bathed in light, providing a stunning platform for this year's incredible live music acts. Headline acts include award-winning artists Electric Fields, Ollie English and Jess Day.

Food for all Tastes
Select from a huge variety of global cuisines on offer or feel free to bring your own picnic basket full of goodies. There will be three dedicated licensed areas to enjoy a drink.

A Sustainable Celebration
Food trucks vendors have committed to using compostable plates, cutlery, napkins and cups – meaning that this waste can all go in the green bin. Volunteers will be on hand to assist at the four bin waste system, to help ensure you put rubbish in the right bin. There will also be free water stations so you can refill your reusable water bottles and the event will be single-use plastic straw free.

Please note for the comfort of guests this is a non-smoking event. No BYO alcohol.

Visit the New Year's Eve webpage for all the event details, including access, road closures and the program announcements.
