Adelaide living suffrage anniversary jodie kannane

Jodie Kannane is the first female General Manager of the Adelaide Central Market Authority. Responsible for the largest undercover fresh produce market in the Southern Hemisphere, with more than 70 traders and 9 million visitors every year, it is a major tourist attraction in the City’s most diverse neighbourhood.

Her landmark appointment in October 2018 came as the Adelaide Central Market was about to celebrate 150 years as a hub of food, culture and community on 23 January 2019. Completing a Bachelor of Commerce with the University of Adelaide in 1992, Kannane worked as an Accountant until 1995 when she joined the Sealink Travel Group as Finance and Operations Manager.

After eleven years with the business, she undertook roles in commercial management, consulting, finance and administration management, before moving into retail management in 2014, working for the Scentre Group which owns and operates Westfield in Australian and New Zealand.

Celebrating 125 years of women's suffrage in South Australia.
