Mandy Smith was the first female employee of the City of Adelaide to be awarded Employee of the Year in 2003-2004. These annual awards recognise, reward and celebrate Council employees and volunteers who embody the values of achievement, collaboration, customer commitment, integrity and innovation, and who deliver extraordinary outcomes for our City.

Smith worked in a variety of roles for the City of Adelaide between 1998-2006 including Youth Development Officer, Team Leader Community Engagement, Acting Manager for the Office of the Lord Mayor and the Chief Executive Officer, and Strategic Projects Coordinator for the Executive Management Team.

Smith’s customer service orientation, commitment to achieving quality results, and initiative made her a highly sought-after member on internal and external committees and a respected team leader within Council.

She gained international experience as a Corporate Training Manager at Eton Institute Dubai (2007-2012) before joining the City of Unley as Manager Community Development.
