Music talk

Last year, in the lead-up to Christmas, we asked a few folks around town to share some of the homegrown tunes that would be making their festive season playlist. Among those we talked to were Justine Mules (member of the Adelaide Crows’ premiership winning AFL Women’s League team) and Luke Penman – a passionate promoter of Adelaide’s live music scene for the last 15 years and the man behind internet radio station, play / pause / play

Since chatting with us about his favourite festive tracks, Luke’s been busy building and programming tunes for play / pause / play – which is dedicated to South Australia’s live music scene and committed to playing 100 per cent Australian music.

More recently though, he headed over to Texas to visit Adelaide’s Sister City Austin and immerse himself in the annual South by South West (SXSW) music festival and conference.

This week, he’s shared his experience in Austin in an opinion piece for CityMag – a quarterly print and weekly digital magazine that “sees Adelaide for what it is and what it is becoming”.
