Tips from a Tour Down Under local

The Santos Tour Down Under may have wrapped for another year, but we managed to catch a fast few minutes with local rider Alexander Edmondson (Mitchelton-SCOTT) in-between stages.

Check out some of the places he likes to visit and things he enjoys doing here in his hometown.

What’s your favourite cycle-friendly café in the city?

Coffylosophy (in Hutt Street). Friendly staff, easy to get to and the coffee is great.”

Where would you recommend cyclists go in Adelaide for a fun ride?

“If you have kids, Victoria Park (Pakapakanthi) with its closed roads or trail bike along the Torrens River Bike track which takes you to Henley Beach.”

What places do you find yourself most within the city when you’re on your bike?

“At the coffee shop.”

Now the TDU is over, maybe you’ll treat yourself to a celebratory drink? What’s your favourite locally produced beverage?

“Prancing Pony.”
